OUR HOLIENSS CONVICTION

El Emancipation ministry is a holiness church, holiness organization, peculiar people, holy congregation, sanctified group and spiritual fellowship of God. Emancipation ministries, El Theological college, Redemption campaigners ministry, international institute of missions and other institutions founded by Rev Prof Emma Ononuju have holiness and spirituality as their foundation base and their possession.

Rev Prof Emma Ononuju is a holy man and also a holiness preacher of this era. He based his conviction on the foundation of truth and holiness with emphasis that “without Holiness, no eye shall see God: Heb 12:14, Mtt 5:8.

Rev Prof Emma Ononuju established El Emancipation ministry to project Holiness and to build the believers in the Holy faith. We preach, teach, live in and practice holiness every day. Below are our holiness conviction and confession.

  1. THE DOCTRINE OF ENTIRE SANCTIFICATION

We preach, teach and believe in entire sanctification when the Holy ghost comes into the heart and life of a believer in the believers quest, desire and hunger to be holy and sanctifies the believer by uprooting the inbred sin and purifying the believers heart by faith and filling the believer’s heart with the power to serve God in faith and in truth without fear and without doubt. Holiness is heart purity and heart cleansing by the Holy ghost. It is the second work of grace after salvation of the believer.

  1. DOCTRINE OF PERFECT LOVE

Holiness is perfect love, goodness and pure heart towards God and towards man. Holiness is a true love and has no discrimination neither imperfection but always gives without demanding and without expectation from the receiver. Love is one of the dive attributes of God which HE shares with men. Genuine love cannot feature without heart purity. We preach and practice love from the holy heart and from spiritual believer that is often ready to say “YES: to the whispering of the Holyghost.

  1. DOCTRINE OF SALVATION

Our doctrine and stand on salvation is based on the simple truth that an adult soul must acknowledge his sins, wickedness, failures and all disobedience towards God and all his willful deviations from the right part and must repent, confess and forsake such sins and wickedness and must turn to God for His fatherly forgiveness because of the death sacrifice and blood poured out by JESUS Christ at the cross of Calvary. It is based on the atonement made at the cross of Calvary by JESUS Christ that our salvation shall be received and based on that also that forgiveness shall be received. It is only salvation from sin that qualified a person to be a heavenly candidate and sanctification of the soul and spirit of the believers come after the salvation of the man. Former sinners begin to hate sins after their salvation and begin to have the witness of the spirit as Gods son.

  1. BELIEVERS FAITH AND FAITHFULNESS

We believe that every saved Christian must be faithful, obedient, sincere, prayerful, spiritual and in agreement with the truth and with the Holy spirit. He must hate sin, worldliness, selfishness and all manner of wickedness and avoid every entanglement with workers of iniquity. He must confess Christ, live for him, represent him, work for him, walk with Him and believe in Him. All born again Christians must be soul winners, and lovers of JESUS. Believers must be members of the invisible church of Christ and must have the assurance of peace with God and forgiveness of their sins through the atonement of JESUS Christ at the cross of Calvary.

  1. BELIEVERS HOLY SERVICES TO GOD

Believers should be holy, sincere and be fully separated from the world of sin and from the workers of iniquity. Believers should have holy ambition, sacrificial lives, total obedience, total devotion, selfless life, sinless life, life of prayers, life of meekness and humility, life of faith and faithfulness, life of total devotion to God and life of giving to God and to the church of God. He must always stick to do things that shall please the Lord and must not provoke the Holy spirit.

  1. HOLINESS AVOIDANCE

Believers in Christ who are born again should not commit sin, steal, cheat, gossip, slander, kill, lie, smoke, fornicate, hate, lust, neither should believers be proud, pompous, deceitful, nor be cultic, magic, delusive and never be demonic. Holy believers must dress neat, gentle and smartly. Their words and appearance must project Christ in all areas of their activities. We are against divorce and re-marriage and against all forms of marriage and family unfaithfulness. Believers should not patronize tobacco and alcoholic quarters, neither smoking rooms but should be separated as holy people of God and as JESUS ambassadors.

  1. HOLY SERMONS OF THE BELIEVERS

Believers should preach Christ and not money. The sermons should be for the salvation of souls and for the building of the believers. It must be Christ centered and must be pointed to Calvary. To us Calvary is the center of all sermons and the foundation of ministries. Our sermons are entitled thus “Believe on the Lord JESUS CHRIST and you shall be saved” which covers both spiritual, ministerial, social and financial salvation. While we need the believers to give, still, we do not preach money but Christ  and Him alone.

  1. OUR RIGHTEOUS DAILY ACTIVITIES AND WORKS

As holy and righteous people of God, our members should live holily, righteously and neatly. They should be regular in church attendance, prayerful, paying their tithes, caring for the orphans, the widows and the gospel ministers. Our members shall be intercessors, supporters of good works, devoted to Gods business, building God’s house, be involved in evangelism, be diligent in God’s works, must love with joy and must always show great faith and faithfulness with higher obedience to God’s word, with long suffering, hope and full of self control. Our members must be epitome of holiness, selfless services, sacrificial life and always friendly with Holy Bible. Holiness shall be the mark and example of our believers.

  1. ENEMIES TO HOLINESS LIFE

While we preach peace, love and holiness, we still advocate for the total avoidance of those things that kill holiness, reject holiness and all anti-holiness activities in the believers. Based on this truth, our members should not be selfish, quarrelsome, hypocritical, proud, rough, tribalistic, double tongued, neither be compromisers, never be occultists, magicians, liars, murders,  idolaters, adulterers, witch doctors, heretics, fighters and any sort of evil. There should be no sin or evil activity found among the holy people of God. They shall be totally saved from their sins and sanctified with the blood and live holily for God with hearts void of offences towards God and towards men. Their possessions shall not be void of theft, strife, evil ambition, debt, evil eyes, evil words, unbelief, egotism, malice, anger, fighting, discrimination, nepotism, favoritism, God fatherism, nor is carnal threat found in them.

Based on this truth, the under listed actions and experiences which people termed as holiness are not holiness.

  1. Holiness is not church membership, neither church position nor church office occupied.
  2. Holiness is not water baptism and never church confirmation.
  3. Holiness is not speaking in tongues and never a part of gibberish we hear today.
  4. It is not an issue of lying of hand by elders.

  6. It is not fasting and never fervent in prayers.
  7. It is not regular attendance to the church and never zeal for God’s work.
  8. It is different from long service as a minister and never many years as a believer.
  9. Holiness is not a lip service and never physical washing and physical cleansing.
  10. Holiness is not a tradition of stopping bad thing and never the sincerity to keep the laws.

  1. WHAT HOLINESS IS

Based on the truth that many denominations and different believers do not know what holiness really means. We have decide to teach the members and associates of El Theological college, followers of Redemption campaigners ministers, members of El Emancipation ministry and all workers of both compassionate woman outreach ministry and Uju International.

Gospel ministries Nigeria and believers associating with our ministries in Nigeria. It is better to explain what holiness is and what holiness does. It is better and more beneficial to understand holiness hence there is increasing desire for the acceptance of the truth when presented not as a trap to the soul but as the word of life. Here reveals what holiness is.

  1. Holiness is purity of heart, cleansing of heart and freedom from inbred sin
  2. Holiness is sanctification and divine positioning for God’s use and divine possession of Gods life.
  3. Holiness is the uprooting of the inbred sin, the cleansing of Adamic nature and the destruction of the carnal mind in the believer’s heart.
  4. Holiness is the act of God in man through the blood of JESUS Christ at the cross of Calvary.
  5. It is the second work of grace when the Holy ghost comes upon the believer as on the day of the Pentecost Acts 2.
  6. It is the sanctification of the saved and the in filling of power to love God and to love man in order to effectively represent JESUS Christ on earth.
  7. It is a perfect love and perfect Christian life Mtt 5:48, it is the heart that is cleansed from pollution in order to obey and to adhere to God fully.
  8. It is the believers Pentecost when their heart shall be filled with power and with love in order to live sacrificial life for Christ.
  9. Holiness is the true baptism with the Holy ghost when God washes the hearts of believers and fill them with power in order to dwell among them and use them.
  10. It is the second visit of God to the heart of man after man’s salvation and the second divine experience after God’s forgiveness.
  1. HOLINESS AND DIVINE POSSESSIONS

There are divine possessions that move with holiness in the life of the believer. There are spiritual attributes, possessions and qualities that cannot be separated from holiness in action. Below are the true manifestations of holiness in the life and heart of the believer in Christ.

  1. HOLINESS AND OBEDIENCE

Holiness cannot be real in the life of a believer without obedience to God and to God’s authority, therefore, a true holiness manifests in total obedience to God.

  1. HOLINESS AND FAITHFULNESS

Holiness cannot be real in the life of a Christian without faithfulness to God and to God’s institution, therefore a true holiness manifests in the total faithfulness to God.

  1. FAITH

True holiness goes with faith because holiness is a product of faith on the finished works at Calvary; therefore true holiness is manifested in true faith in Christ JESUS.

  1. HOLINESS AND SERVICES

All sacrificial services unto the Lord are acts of holiness. No sincere service can be rendered to God and to his church without holiness, therefore holiness of services to God and to the church.

  1. HOLINESS AND MEEKNESS

The most outstanding areas of the manifestation of Bible holiness is humility and meekness. Holiness is not proud and never pomposity but always meek, therefore, holiness can never show its colour without meekness. Believers in Christ must be holy humble like Moses who was described as the meekest on earth.

  1. EXAMPLES OF HOLIENSS

Rev Prof Emma Ononuju, the president and founder of El Theological College, El Emancipation Ministry, El University of Theology, International Institute of Missions and Redemption Campaigners Ministry is a holy man and holiness preacher and teacher of our generation.

The doctrinal stand of Rev Prof Emma Ononuju is holiness with emphasis on heart purity and faithfulness unto the Lord. We believe that holiness, faith and faithfulness are keys to attract God and all His favours and miracles.

Our emphasis on holiness is based on Heb 12:14, which says “Follow peace with all men and holiness with which no eye shall see the Lord, Mtt 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God, 1 Pet 1:16 because it is written be ye holy as I am holy, To us holiness has no substitute in the life of a believer in Christ Jesus.

THE CHURCH AND HOLINESS
Our conviction of holiness in the church and in the congregations where Gods name is called. We confess and believe that the church of God should be a holy place where peace and love reign. If the church fails to be holy, it is not of God but the devil and of the world. The church should be holy, peaceful, charitable, pure, carful, dutiful, creative, benevolent, supportive, giving, helpful, prayerful, sincere, devotional, pure, truthful, open minded, and must represent JESUS on earth. The church belongs to God and must be holy as God the owner of the church is holy.

ORIGIN OF CHRISTIAN HOLINESS
Holiness has its origin in God whom Bible says is holy. Heaven also is a holy place where love and joy reign forever. Man’s holiness starts after his salvation from sin, nevertheless, we are not trying to introduce a gradual and progressive holiness but man becomes holy after his salvation from his sins. The following steps are the origin and history of mans holiness possession.

  1. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF SINS

The initial step to find Christ by every sinner is the total acknowledgement of his sins which shall lead him into sorrow and repentance.

  1. REPENTANCE OF SINS

This is an important step when sinner becomes very sorry for all his wickedness, all his evil activities and all sins against men and against God.

  1. CONFESSION OF SINS

This is a prayer for forgiveness by a sinner pleading for God’s pardon and remission of such sins. It is total confession for God’s mercy by a sinner.

  1. CONVERSION FROM EVIL TO RIGHTEOUNESS

This is a condition of determination when the former sinner turns away from his former sinful life and adheres to godly life and forsakes all his evil ways and cleaves to godly ways of truth, righteousness and fellowship with God.

  1. RECEIVING THE LORD

This is the stage when the repented soul surrendered to the Lordship of JESUS and accepts Christ as both his Lord and savior with great acceptance of Jesus finished works at the Calvary.

  1. GOD’S ACTION OF FORGIVENESS

The forgiveness of God is the greatest evidence of God’s love to the repented sinner. When God forgives a sinner, He justifies him and counts him worthy to inherit heaven and worthy of eternal life in JESUS Christ. New life of a believer begins from God’s forgiveness.

  1. SALVATION OF GOD

This is the greatest gift of God. Salvation from sin is assurance of heaven. When God forgives, He justifies and saves. Salvation is God’s gift through JESUS CHRIST alone. Evidence of salvation is peace of mind, peace with God, hatred to sin, separation from the world and assurance of eternity in heaven with Christ. Holiness begins with salvation, though with daily and unceasing battles with the flesh, carnality and with the world in the heart. These battles are signs of imperfection, inbred sin, carnality and heart of flesh which hall be uprooted by sanctification and purification of the heart by the Holy ghost.

  1. BELIEVERS SANCTIFICATION

The sanctification of the believers is the true evidence of holiness and purity. This is God’s action to sanctify, purify or to make a believer holy, and prepare him for His (GOD’S) Services on earth. This is the second work of grace when the Holy ghost like the day of the Pentecost purify, sanctify the believers by faith and totally up the inbred sin and the carnal mind out him by faith.

The above story of life is our conviction of Holiness which every person associating with us shall understand in full.

  1. HOLINESS AND SERVICES

The supreme task before a holy believer in Christ is rendering of selfless services to God, to the church and to total humanity. Holiness has to do with selflessness and total devotion to God and to the business of the Lord. Holiness is against hypocrisy eye services, selfishness and crafty services. Holiness means “Giving all to God and for God, while in God” it is self denial, total abstinence and total separation from the world and all its pollutions.

  1. HOLINESS AND GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

A holy believer is mandated by the scriptures to pray and desire for the gifts of the Holy ghost for the effective growth and great survival of the church. The gifts of the Holy ghost are for the believers in Christ no matter their age, denomination or their tribe. All that are saved need the gifts in order to work for the Lord and His church. Every believer irrespective of his or her Christian background should   seek for divine charisma in order to fully represent JESUS on earth Mk 16:15-17. Holiness is not anti-charisma; rather holiness is the power that quickens the gifts to manifest.

  1. HOLINESS AND MIRACLES

Here comes a general misconception of Bible holiness, where many people believe that holy men shall not preach, teach or perform miracles. This idea is wrong and at times devilish. Holiness goes with miracles. If a holy man does not preach, teach and perform miracles, who then can do that? In fact, miracles are parts of holiness, though a witness as and evidences to the world, still great keys to soul winning. Holy man should pray for signs and wonders to follow his ministry and not that He should follow after signs and wonders; people like Peter, John, Paul and other great apostles were miracle workers. JESUS also sent them to heal, deliver and save souls Mtt 10:1-15, Lk 10:1-15. Miracles, signs and wonders shall follow holy men and women in their ministries. Holy men and women should not shy away from the issues of miracles, signs and wonders but must preach them, teach them and fully exemplify them. (see miracles, signs and wonders or testimonies) at www.recampel.com, www.ujuintergospel.com

  1. HOLINESS AND TEMPERAMENTS

Holiness is not against any temperament. Holy ghost is the transformer, controller, modifier and director of every total repented and saved believers. The temperament and action of every sanctified Christian is under the leadership of the Holy ghost. No matter the type, name and level of one’s temperament, Holy ghost controls such who has fully yielded to the leadership of the Holy ghost, who changes rough life and quick actions to meekness and gentleness. When a believer gives all his life to the Lord, the lord in turn controls and leads the person, no matter the person’s temperament.

With the exception of resident classroom and associate school programs, a student can start studies at anytime.

MINISTRY EXPERIENCE
Our school realizes that the greatest school of all is the Holy spirit’s school of on the job training and experience. Valuable education is not just learned from books or from the classroom setting, but from actual ministry to those around us. Our school gives credit for those years of experience in active Christian ministry.

Trimester credits can be given toward the ministry studies for the years that have been spent in actual ministry, whether full of part time. A portfolio and autobiographical resumes are required and you must be enrolled as a student at our school.

This program is designed to help the minister, pastor or Christian worker who earnestly desires to further his or her education but has not had the opportunity or finances to attend an institution of higher learning due to the demands of active ministry or job and work related schedules.

All students are expected to manifest the highest standards of Christian living and conduct. They are required to attend regular church services. For those external students, they are expected to be members of a local church or Christian fellowship, and support such as well as those who are enrolled in resident studies. This is expected of both on campus and off campus students.

CREDIT TRANSFER
Individuals transferring credits from other institutions will be given full consideration for credits earned, proving the subjects meet the requirements of the course of study or program requirements for which the individual is enrolled. We do accept credits relating to subjects other than Bible and Theology to be applied to one of our degree programs.

OBTAINING CONTACT HOURS
The school’s courses are based on twenty five (25) hours of contact time equaling one (1) trimester hour of credit. This credit is earned in one or more ways. The first is through classroom teaching at the school or a participating ways. Field ministry church, the second way is through field ministry instruction in approved EXTENSION CLASS CHURCHES, where the student is taught and exposed to various aspects of church life, ministry and administration. A third way is through the use of correspondence courses directed by the seminary staff. A fourth way is through time spent in independent research or study. Any combination of the above will earn the student contact hours. Whatever method is necessary to teach those who teach the Body of Christ and equip them to effectively do the Lord’s work, our school is prepared to undertake this task.

NOTE: Testing may be required to validate hours of credit.

STUDENTS FROM OUTSIDE NIGERIA

By bringing together a highly trained and spiritually dynamic lowliness teaching force in West Africa. We offer an educational opportunity for black Africans which cannot be equaled or surpassed even by traveling to the U.S or Europe. African pastors, evangelists and missionaries need to be trained in Africa where instructors understand Africa and where knowing and doing can go on simultaneously. For missions students from Bible colleges in the U.S.A, Canada and Europe, we afford opportunity for academically competitive instruction in a thoroughly cross-cultural environment. The study of missiology in a third world atmosphere adds a valuable internship element to their learning experiences.

ACADEMIC LIFE IN THE SCHOOL
CHAPEL SERVICES

During the regular school week, chapel services are held daily. They are designed to contribute to the spiritual growth of the entire ELTHECO community. The Monday chapel hour is devoted to a faculty prayer group and student prayer groups for the various areas of the world which are led by ELTHECO Mission fellowship. On Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday corporate chapel services are held in the chapel. Music, drama, multi-media presentations, sermons which encourage, motivate and challenge students help theology to doxology. The Wednesday chapel hour is spent in greater prayer, composed of each advisor with his or her advisees, for times in which Bible study, sharing of concerns and prayer may occur within a caring atmosphere. On Thursday, an extended time is allocated after the chapel period for a forum to consider issues of special interest. Chapel services are regarded as central in the spiritual life of the ELTHECO. Students and faculty are expected to attend all such services. Rev Prof Emma Ononuju visits and preaches in the chapel services.

DAY OF PRAYER
Once each quarter, the ELTHECO spends classes for a day of prayer. Students and faculty use this time especially for encouragement, sharing, prayer, revival and spiritual exercises.

STUDENT COUNCIL
The student council consists of students who have been elected for three primary purposes: to listen intently for the specific needs of the students body, to channel such information steadily to the administration and faculty; and to convert such information into effective action. Student representatives, nominated by the student council, are appointed by the Dean of the student of life and the faculty as full voting members of the committee of the faculty.
ELTHECO MISSION FELLOWSHIP
ELTHECO Mission fellowship, a self-perpetuating organization of all students, help stimulates awareness of and involvement in worldwide evangelization. It aims to inform students concerning God’s worldwide gospel. Chapel services and other activities are planned by mission fellowship toward these ends. Mission fellowship also raises funds from the students’ body for various projects.
